Rooting For My Entrepreneurial Blog Friends

I get such a kick out of friends turning their passion into business! I always have and I always will. I breathe the excitement with them and of course I do what I can to support their efforts.

Time to highlight some new shops/product lines. I am incredibly proud of these good blog friends and their business ventures.

Paula with Two Ellie captured my heart a long time ago. She and her blog are amazing on so many levels. She recently opened a shop selling pre-designed & personal scriptures in handsome photo frames. You can choose one of her favorite scriptures or bring your own to the table. What a wonderful way to make a rather simple gift feel more personal. Visit Paula’s store here.

My close friend Jill with Live Like You, who I have mentioned many times on my blog, keeps on adding more fabulous products to her private label. She has just launched a brand new pillow line. Quality and many different colors. All wonderful! Visit Jill’s store here.

And images of her interiors can be found on ads (for the home section of a leading morning paper) on buses all over Stockholm! How cool is that! You rock girl friend!

Via Jill I have met another friendly Swede, Erica with Studio Eriksdotter, who is a talented artist in Washington DC. Her artwork has been shown all over blog land. She has found her very own niche with her commissioned bridal bouquet paintings — all with a fresh, modern touch. Personal gifts for birthdays, anniversaries and special holidays. What a wonderful way of preserving memories for generations to come. Beats a dry flower bouquet for sure! The popular art pieces are all hand painted by Erica. (She works off photos). Visit her studio here.

And last but not least, my close friend Tina, with The Enchanted Home, took her passion to the next level by launching (this past weekend!) her first on-line store, offering home goods she is truly passionate about. In her store you will find exquisite items like monogrammed napkins, etched glass lanterns and unique silver pieces, among other things. I am not telling what I am getting this week, because then you will just snap it up before me! Visit Tina’s shop here.

I AM SO PROUD OF my friends! They are all staying true to who they are what they really like. And with true passion follows success – however you define success. Rooting for them all! (And all my other entrepreneurial friends who I have highlighted in the past and will highlight again).

And, for my own little shop, I almost fell off my chair when I learned that one of my products (Ilse Jacobsen’s boots) is featured in the April issue (page 24) of Fitness Magazine. How incredibly rewarding to know that my store, Splendid Willow Avenue, will reach 1.5 million readers. Pinching myself over here!

For all of you who have your own business ideas that you are really passionate about – just do it! If it is is meant to be, you will be amazed how things will start to come together.

Happy new week to you all.

I have a serious crush on anyhing by Ilse Jacobsen. Her high-end fashion items brings so much joy to me personally and it is an honor to represent her designs in my store, Splendid Willow Avenue, (if you recall, it was her products that led me to start this hopping store in the first place). I now carry four of her brand new models.

1) Chic, equestrian rubber boots (I have a lot more equestrian fun to share with you this spring!).2) Edgy rubber and camouflage boots

3) Stylish biker boots – tall

4) Stylish biker boots – mid calf

I am proud to be part of a great Ilse Jacobsen team in Seattle area that makes rain in the US stylish and fun!

I also want to thank these incredibly stylish, friendly and always supportive blog friends whose blogs I follow loyally. Thank you so much for your unexpected & so appreciated shout-outs for my store! (If you, my readers, are not following their blogs — you’d better start now).

Adding More Items To My Store

I must say that I love my little store. I really do. Not because of the great goods I get to scout and represent, but also because of all the really fantastic people (designers, partners and customers) I connect with on a daily basis. It is sooo darn rewarding!

Here are two Swedish ladies I connected with in Stockholm last week and immediately liked – because of their creative mindsets and their lovely attititudes. It is an honor to now carry their great goods in my store.

First up, Ylva Skarp, who’s incredible home I featured in my previous post. A London educated calligrapher, this talented lady is taking Sweden by storm.

Ylva’s items are flying off the shelves and I am the first store in the US to carry items from her collection. I have already order her leather pillows with calligraphy art for my own home. Lovely, right!

Maria Holmberg is another talented artist, I recently connected with and Oh-Boy am I pleased to, as a first store in the US,  be representing her gorgeous pottery with birch motif.

It does not get much more Swedish than that, people! (Birch is the “royal tree” of Sweden). Gorgeous with a capital G in my opinion.

I have also added some great rugs (runners) via DesignHouse Stockholm. I have been on the look-out for some great rugs for my own kitchen and these hit the spot. You already know that my favorite color is gray, and  to now carry rugs in my store  that are gray with a birch feel (and leather edging) – well hello ! – it is heavenly for me.

I will always be loyal to Ilse Jacobsen. I love their products (if you recall I was trotting around in Ilse Jacobsen boots long before I opened an on-line boutique) and I love the people I work with. I am restocking on yellow boots, timely for spring.

I am now also carrying Ilse Jacobsen’s LATEST raincoat model, a mix between the long coat and the jacket – 3/4 mid length. It is already a new top seller.

Visit my store here to learn more about the new products — Splendid Willow Avenue.

Did you all read the latest issue of House of Fifty? My good friend Janell never disappoints! Read it here. Cover to cover, please.

I have yet again teamed up with my gorgeous and close friend Jill, with Live Like You, for a Spring ad. Just visit House of Fifty at page 78 + 79 and redeem a 15% off coupon.

Works at my store AS WELL as Jill’s store (she carries tons of lovely things for the home).

Happy new week to you all.

Stockholm In My Heart & Now In My Store (New)

Stockholm is never far away. I left Sweden and Stockholm for the US in 1995 (work brought me across the Atlantic and I was supposed to stay for max 2 years.  So much for that deadline…). The US is where I later decided I wanted to put down my anchor. This is home, for sure. But my love for Sweden will always be there. And I always tend to bring a little bit of Swedish to everything I do (and from what I also understand) say! (Yikes, some serious Swenglish, I am sure!).

When it comes to interior design, I think that the Swedes are the world masters of merging really old furnishings with new. They do it effortlessly and beautifully. Much thanks to the Swedes’ on-going love for simple, classic lines (and neutral colors). Timeless designs seem to go hand-in-hand with the Swedish mentality.

Old Swedish and new modern can all be mixed in these three Swedish rooms.

Objects can be moved around between all these rooms and still work beautifully together. For example the antique gold mirror in the last image can easily switch spots with the torso above the fireplace in picture no. 2. And the bronze torso would look great above the gray sofa.

The gray, Gustavian sofa would look beautiful in this room paired with modern furnishings and antiques from a different era.

In my on-line store, Splendid Willow Avenue, I also try to pick timeless pieces that will still work and be appreciated many years down the road.

Today, I am very proud to announce a new brand in my store — the fabulous DesignHouse Stockholm. A store I have visited frequently over the years. The store represents more than 60 talented Swedish designers and thanks to them many beautiful & fun designs have hit the market and become modern classics.

Here are are few items I have hand picked for my store:

A two legged lamp with attitude!

An umbrella stand which also is a lovely piece of art.

A stylish bicycle basket. (Comes in 3 colors).

A timeless and functional tray table.A bit of design loveliness for the young ones.

 Simple, modern coffee/tea mugs.

You will find these new items and others in my store — here. More are coming!

In a couple of weeks I will get a real dose of Sweden. I am heading to Stockholm for a week to mainly look after my dear Mom & to hook up with family and friends, but also to see what other new things I can bring to my store & to my readers!

Don’t forget to subscribe to my store newsletter if you want first hand access to store News & Deals. Subscribe here.

Warm hugs.

Latest Additions To My Store

I am slowly adding more things I go nuts for to my store, Splendid Willow Avenue. Every single item is hand picked and making me very happy and proud.

NEW for the kids:

A 24 pocket garland to count the days to Christmas. Kids love it! Fill each pocket with a personal note, a treat, or tangerine and the kids will think you are the best!

COMING LATER THIS WEEK. A Danish wooden cheese house for the mice boxes (sold separately). You know how much I dislike plastic. This one is so witty and adorable! Pay attention to the Swiss cheese roof! (The house comes with the table, “thread spool” chairs, kettle, mugs, table cloth and small rug).

Note: I only have a few of these and probably some of the last in the US (and no more will be made). Let me know if you want to reserve one.

ALSO coming this week – the Vanilla colored Danish Reindeer. 100% cotton. How irresistibly handsome is he!

NEW for the home. This stunning oversized wool blanket, hand-vowen in Finland. Well made and gorgeous. Landing in my store in the next few days. (You bet I am getting one myself!).

NEW jewelry by the Swedish jewelry designer “Asa”.

Chunky bead necklace with a silver cross.

Now pay attention – who is my model if not my dear blog friend Michele with Hello Lovely Inc.! It is a fun family business, people – all with good energy. Doesn’t she look stunning! I adore her!

Also new from “Asa” is this Earthy Necklace with three pendants (sterling silver cross, a piece of bamboo coral and Asa’s sterling silver tag).

You can see most of the new items in my store now (and more will come later this week).

Enter my store, Splendid Willow Avenue, here, if you want to learn more.

Thank you’s are in order.

EXTRA BIG HUGS to my close blog friends Paula (Two Ellie)

And Ally (From The Right Bank)

Out of the blue came their shout-outs for my little store. Amazing ladies. Amazing friends. What unexpected treats. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hugs to everyone.
