Swedes And Their Black Design Accents

White, crisp walls, yes. But don’t think that gray is a Swedes favorite accent color to go with all that white (just because I babble about it all the time). Black is always a top choice. Yin and yang. Perfect harmony. I want my summer home to look & feel like this. Fresh, airy, harmonious, current — all embracing simple uncomplicated living.

P.S Admit that you feel tempted to paint a piece of furnishing black.

  • oh mon, i am eating up every single image with my eyes. you have the bestest bestest eye. i love this style so much. the last image of the stairs. oh my. i’m ready to build a new house i think!

thanks for your positive support and encouragement. i love hearing your voice, and you always make me laugh (whether you intend that or not!). a tough few days, but that only means that good ones are coming–i know this from experience. in order for something great to be born, there must be a little suffering and death of something else (in my case, pride, selfishness, and some vanity must cease).

    i love you dearly.

  • I love these pictures, such beautiful rooms. The white and rustic tones are so warm and homely and the black accents just pulls it all together and gives each room depth, creating such a stylish haven – Just great.

  • Hi Mon! Our hearts are in the same place….the country home! Love these photos…great inspiration for our little barn house in the country. I’m considering a barn red exterior- like a little “stuga” and need to find that perfect Swedish red! Any suggestions? Yes….we are in the middle of a bathroom remodel with messes everywhere at the PB home but we are crazy for this new place and are making some changes right away to make it a bit more comfortable. A whirlwind of things going on-but it’s the good stuff :)!!
    Hugs to you-

Hi, Mon! Actually I have a piece of black furnishing, a cabinet I have in the hallway. It goes perfectly with the white walls and the rest of the light objects. It gives the space such an elegant look. Swedes know best. :)
