Grasscloth Wallpaper

I have admired grasscloth wallcoverings for a long time. They bring beautiful texture to a room. But I must have been nodding off or something because I have totally missed that there is so much grasscloth wallpaper with patterns. Color yes, but designs — and lovely ones too — my eyes are perking up! (Things have changed since the 70’s, folks!).

My very good friend, talented designer Jill with Live Like You, gave me lots of eye candy and inspiration last week. I am shamelessly recycling many of her blog images!

Grasscloth with key link pattern.

Phillip Jeffries (above and below) offers a great selection. Printed grasscloth.

Holland & Sherry’s designs (below). You will find lots of patterns.

I am thinking I must try something along those lines in our smaller living room/study. Those walls are ready for a  makeover. I will let you know what I settle for. I can already see it — and I am getting kind of excited.

Happy New Week!

P.S I blogged about this sexy silver metallic grasscloth wallpaper a loooong time ago. Still a favorite of mine. Called Liquid Metalic Wallpaper (Madagascar) via Crezana.

  • I’m with you love grasscloth and have used Phillip Jeffries in a bath and living room. I want more so I’m thinking of using grasscloth on one wall in our bedroom. I had no idea it came printed with patterns now I need to go see more. I hope you’re doing well!

  • Gorgeous…had it in my old house and loved it. It brings such pretty texture and warmth without being an overkill. Hope you are well pretty lady!

  • the texture in those is so appealing to me, monika.

  • I am also a HUGE fan of grasscloth…need to find a spot for it in our house. Right now it’s looking like our bedroom but I’m still working on ideas to pull it all together. :) Hope you’re well Mon! Sorry I missed seeing you last week!

  • goodness gracious sakes alive, my senses were ignited as soon as that first image hit my brain. ooh la la i think i might sell my soul for that room with its tufted sea fan perfection and the most harmonious colors, oui? i have never used grasscloth and can’t wait to see what you choose. any one of these will do the job with style.

hope this finds you well and fully recovered. i’m feelin half human today so that is something! i’ll be outside most of the day but will call you soon.

please don’t tell my mama or Jesus about that first sentence about my soul.

Oh I just love grass cloth wallpaper. We had it in our house while I was growing up so I have a little bit of a sentimental thing about it too. Back in the 70’s everything was an avacado green in our house and so was the grass cloth wallpaper :-)

All gorgeous and very inspirational. Can’t wait to see what you pick! I know it will be fab.

  • What a great post! I too love grasscloth. I don’t know what it is that draws me to it and alas I do not have it in my own home! I love the natural texture and warmth it gives a space. It is timeless. I have used it since I started in design in the 70’s….ah yes. It is simply classic.

    Hi Mon!!

I hope you got to enjoy a super relaxing, pampered Mother’s Day!

I’m loving the newest grasscloths, especially Phillip Jeffries. I put one in my bookcases in the family room, but now I want to redo my dining room with one. They seemed to have really improved over the years and I agree…I’m seeing them more and more. Love the subtle texture they provide.

    Happy new week!
    xoxo Elizabeth
