Black & White & Orange/Rust

As much as I heart white and crisp rooms I also gravitate towards black and orange. (Burnt orange is also very pretty together with gray. I use those color combinations in several of my rooms). Red is pretty but too harsh for me.). A pretty black chest like this, from a flea market in Paris must move in with me soon! It adds a little drama to just about any room.

An oldie from my inspiration file. But this area is so pretty with black, white, orange and little bit of gold = timeless!

(Greet, if you see this – I envision you riding boots lined up just like that! Picture perfect!).

I recently scored this pretty, vintage handmade bust (from Denmark of all places!) at a local antiques shop. Would look pretty on that black chest. (Now it is placed on a very old Swedish chess table).

Last week was my special time at home with my kids before they head back to school and I turned my back on everything in cyberland. Coming Wednesday ALL three of my kids will be in school full time! I will have a new life! Scary and fun at the same time. (Imagine what I will get done!).

Hugs to you all.

Still time! Don’t forget to enter our store giveaway!

You might be the first one in the US to receive (or perhaps you want to give it away as a perfect gift) a handmade heart necklace designed to your own family configuration! The giveaway ends on Thursday @ midnight. Enter giveawayhere.

Really, that is the “perfect” shade of orange…that “splash of sepia” infused with orange…franki

  • Monica-
I can’t take my eyes off of the first image! I have never been able to exclude rust from my decor, and this validates my choices.
In’t it great to get back to a schedule. Nice to have them home for the summer, but great to get back to normal life.
    Happy Tuesday.

These images make even the summeryest girl like me swoon!!! The bust is perfect there! I have some busy weeks ahead just when you will be singing hallelujah school’s in session!

    Love to you.

  • Love, love, love that first shot – what a great vignette framed by one of my favorite colors! I have linen curtains hung in the living room right now for a Summery feel, but my first project after school gets started will be to make some in this pretty rust color for a whole new look! Best of luck with the school start – there certainly is a lot going on in September to get everything underway!

  • I love the mix of white, black and orange. Really makes me think of autumn and the change in the colour of the leaves. Although I love summer I am very much looking forward to the autumn and all of the new interior trends which will follow with it. Not normally a fan of black and white but these images with the orange are gorgeous.

  • I’ve just fallen in love with rust- bought some velvet this past weekend and can’t wait to put it somewhere:) LOVE your new bust- gorgeous.

Love the first picture and the black black chest! My favorite is the pictures hanging in the second pictures with the woman in the orange dress. Love it! Happy first week of your rest of your life!

The Danish bust alone is beautiful, but pairing it with the chess table is brilliant. LOVE it!

I LOVE any space that has some orange in it and I know that’s no secret:-). These are really beautiful, especially that first image! XX

    xxx sis

You have picked a combination that I love!!! Especially when the orange is a deep rich version like the ones you have showed…..and I have been searching for a bust like that forever…..dang…..lucky you!
