My Home Featured In Rue Magazine
I am on route to Stockholm, Sweden were I will be spending a couple of weeks (and will occasionally blog from). My husband is sending out this post while I am still up in the air!
It is an honor for me to share with you that today my home is featured in the latest issue of the oh-so-fabulous Rue Magazine. I can hardly believe it myself. Bloggers and magazine founders extraordinaire Anne Sage and Crystal Gentilello felt that my home in Seattle would be something for their readers and asked if I wanted to open my doors for them. I am beyond thrilled. This is the first time a design magazine has featured my home — ever! And what a magazine!
Another fabulous blogger and Rue magazine contributor (and good friend!), MacKenzie Horan, spear headed the text.
Thank you all! It has been such a pleasure working with you and I am so looking forward to meeting you all in person one day soon.
For the article Rue sent over the super talented Seattle-NY photographer Dorothee Brand with Belathee Photography who spent a day at my house and made my home look fantastic from angles I had not even discovered myself! (She is a gem).

I can’t wait to land in Stockholm and read the article myself. It’s a little surreal (really, my home?!) but what a fun experience! I am very grateful.

Mon! I was reading Rue (one of my faves) as soon as it came live today and there you were! I got chills I was so thrilled! What a beautiful home you have and Dorothee’s photography (that lens is incredible) is simply awesome! How lucky you are and no one deserves such a lovely feature more than you! And may I just pause here to put a big disclaimer in that this comment is going to be LONG!
So I was flicking page after page as fast as I could (only stopping to read dear Will’s article or planting!) to reach your STUNNING feature.
And finally there it was.. Page 158 and my heart made a little jolt of happiness!
Not only does the home look stylish (of course!), and soulful (how could it not!?!), but it had so many layers of details that are so charming I wanted to drive over and knock on the door right away. Well..now we know I’d like to do that anyway, but you know what I am saying.. Your home has character and a magnetic charm that cements the fact that a) here lives a happy bunch of fabulous people and b) this is a home with tangible memories, stories and genuine allure.
I LOVE the new wallpaper – both the amazing books paper (!) and the floral backdrop to your antique plate rack (clever Mon!).
And how great doesn’t the new kitchen table look!?! Such a bright and sunny spot for breakfast!
Also nearly kissed the screen at the sight of that super sexy black ladder..! A new purchase?! I want one badly!
Last but not least – you are looking great. Sleek and stylish mamma with adorable Prince W!
The cat too looks fab and I love how it made sure it was part of two key shots – it is HIS house after all right!?!
Biggest hugs from the bottom of the world. I am saluting you with pride and happiness. You SO deserved this my darling and you did so well!

Åh Mon, Herre Min Gud:)! Vilket reportage!!! Ja, jag ryser över hela kroppen. Fantastiskt helt enkelt, varje bild, varje detalj, varje liten vrå.
Vem skulle väl kunna motstå ett hem med så mycket personlighet(‘I only live with things I love’- det märks!), värme och kärlek!!!
Så vackert foto av dig och lillkillen och gummistövlarna i bakgrunden på bilden bredvid är bara en sååå härlig detalj, och så underbara Huskatten Charlie(?)!!! Så inspirerande alltihop och med reflektion om ett ‘riktigt hem’-ÄNTLIGEN!!! Tapeten med böcker är Gudomlig, den vill ja HA:)!!!

Congratulations! I absolutely LOVE the spread on your lovely home. (I bragged about it on mochatini too). Your style is so refined and sophisticated, and uniquely you. The wallpaper is so chic. I adore everything, including the ladder, the baskets on the wall, the worktable..everything. It all comes together so marvelously. When am I coming over?

Your home has been magazine worthy for years so it comes as no surprise to me to find it featured in Rue. I’m getting the kids ready for school and I sit here in envy and awe of you in my little town of Oak Park where we first met. You need to come visit us soon!!!
I love you and miss you everyday. Enjoy Sweden and wish your mom well. I hope she is ok and feeling better soon. Let’s talk soon.

I looked at it yesterday and I too had tears in my eyes, but not because the pictures were “unstyled.” To me they looked perfect, the whole thing was gorgeous, and I was filled with pride and happiness for you. I am so happy for you and know this is just the beginning of many more photo shoots to come.
It is neat having a famous neighbor!!! 
Enjoy Sweden and your mother. When you get back I want to come over and see all the changes–paint, William’s room, wallpaper, etc.
