Summer Home With A Heart

I am always dreaming about a little family summer retreat in Sweden. Our own little piece of heaven. Isn’t this small summer home called “Villa Else” lovely? It is beautifully situated in a Nature Reserve in Denmark.

Charming and easy living with a lot of heart – just the way a summer home should be. And not too big. I want to enjoy every minute with my family – not have to fix and clean the house. (As a matter of fact, I would be super happy if there was no vacuum cleaner in sight – only a simple broom for an occasional sweep!)

Love this corner of the house. And the skylight!

You could not bribe me with the largest yacht in the world for family summer vacations. This is my preferred way of living. This is what makes me tick. A quaint summer home surrounded by apple and plum trees. Lazy days and lovely quality time with friends and family who mean the most. And no TV and internet connection!

Happy rest of the week, dear friends. Dream big!

    Hi Monika
I just love this cottage.. particularly the dark grey siding.. I’ve had dreams about this very same look since I found a similar house in the Australian Country Style Magazine I’ll have to dig it out to show you… very similar but with aussie overtones.. I think you’d like it.. How cute is the child in the tub with his eggbeater to what? make bubbles? haha… Have a lovely day .. xx Julie

Oh, it’s good to be here. My visiting has been too limited… other home stuff/catching up to attend to… Everything looks so good over here! And happy! And Spring-like! I am in love with that bedroom photo- so, SO sweet.
We visited Carlsbad (because of Legoland…) The beach there is lovely, too. We’ll definitely go back to the West coast… North or South, I love it!

this is sooo amazing!! This small but perfect villa is just breathtaking. And it’s so bright inside. Love the entire setting, house and pictures. And love the little vase with the almost lost typography. Did they have it made or did they buy the vase and name the house after the vase …
    lovely!!

  • Yes, this is my kind of place, too. beautiful. We had a small version of that on Saturday, celebrating Noah’s sixth birthday. A small group of friends and family, our kids running around in the sunshine. Just being with the ones we love without any activities or plans other than just…well. Being. It was wonderful.

I hope you had a great weekend, dear.
